A few quick steps to improving your life and taking back what’s rightfully yours! Viva La resistance!
1. Live for the moment
We tend to forget that we should live in the now and not the present or the future. If we keep looking toward the future, we will never enjoy what we have at the moment. There is an old Chinese proverb “ Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery and today is a gift, that’s why it’s called the present”.
2. Learn a new language
Learning a new language will broaden your horizons and put you a notch up above the rest. A lot of people only know one language and it’s a shame really. Learning a new language is a great confidence booster and it stimulates your brain. A new language gives you insight in your own language, a good example would be how Greek and Latin made big contributions toward the English language.
3. Don’t be afraid
Okay be afraid of the obvious and things you should be afraid of. Otherwise, you should start facing your fears and the things you dread. When you go to work and you have a pile of work to do you should start digging in and solving the problem instead of dreading to go to work each day. You’ll feel so much better when you have all of the work done. If you have software you don’t know how to operate you should broaden your computer skills. Take online Microsoft courses and take that software to town. Scared of spiders? Go read about them, get know your enemy and defiantly say you’re not scared of them as they walk on the wall…way over there…as far away from you as possible. Take little steps, each one counts toward conquering your fear.
4. The same routine everyday
Break the oppression of the same routine day in and day out. It’s been said that going to work taking different roads and writing with your other hand from time to time stimulates your brain. Your body and brain are so used to the same things over and over again so try to spice it up with the unexpected, you’ll feel great knowing that you’re not going to take the same mundane routine everyday!
5. Procrastinators unite…tomorrow!
No we say, do it today! Stop procrastinating and get your life in order. Do those dishes and wash that car. Take a few minutes out of your life and get those things done that need to get done. Leaving your responsibilities to the last minute only makes you feel worse when you get home and see that you still have to fix that oven or clean that window or feed the dog. Just get it over and done with so that you can relax and have a good time.
Ruan Smit grew tired of dragging his feet through the mud and decided he should change his life. After a few Microsoft courses for his work, a gym routine for his body and living socially he doesn’t want to look back.
