Women aren’t the only ones who undergo plastic surgery to improve their looks. Men who show signs of aging or other cosmetic imperfections are also known to undergo procedures to achieve a better physical appearance, and even some of Hollywood’s leading men have chosen this route. You may be surprised to learn that these five male celebrities have had cosmetic surgery.
Bruce (Caitlyn) Jenner
Before becoming Caitlyn, this 1976 Olympic gold medalist and former patriarch of the Kardashian family was said to have had rhinoplasty (a nose job) along with a couple of facelifts. Since transitioning to Caitlyn, Jenner has undergone intensive facial feminization plastic surgery along with breast implant surgery, a jaw lift and a jawbone and tracheal shave.
Howard Stern
Shock jock radio host Howard Stern isn’t immune to feelings of self-consciousness. In 2006, Stern had surgery to change the natural shape of his nose. Stern also wanted to make his face more slender and remove his double chin by having liposuction.
Tom Cruise
At the beginning of his career, this long-time Hollywood A-list actor had a rhinoplasty because he wanted a slimmer nose. He also wanted to remove the hook shape at the end of his nose to enhance his facial features better. Rumor has it that Cruise has even used Botox services to smoothen his facial wrinkles and lines as he has aged.
Clay Aiken
This pop recording artist and former contestant on American Idol has admitted to having work done on his nose, chin and jaw to achieve better facial symmetry. His jaw surgery was also performed to correct a disorder of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ).
Steven Tyler
Famous for being the frontman of legendary rock band Aerosmith, Steven Tyler has undergone several procedures throughout his life to try to improve his appearance as he has aged. He is said to have had a couple of different rhinoplasties to improve the shape of the tip of his nose. It’s also believed that he receives injections of Botox and other fillers regularly to hide signs of aging.
These celebrities prove that even men can feel insecure about their looks and are sometimes willing to do whatever it takes to achieve greater aesthetic appeal. As far as celebrities and actors are concerned, your looks sometimes do matter, especially when it comes to what you can earn and the types of jobs you can get.
