It’s no secret that fast food is in major contribution to the unhealthy livings of modern America. However, that’s not stopping most people from eating in fast food joints all across the country every single day of their lives. It seems almost unbelievable, but it makes sense. Fast food is cheap, conveniently fast, and tastes appetizing enough to suffice for a below average lunch. Now, there are much better meals, in regards to taste and health value, that one can partake in, rather than shove greasy fast food down one’s throat. With that being said, here is a list of 4 easy-to-make dishes you can cook up for lunch:
Grilled Chicken Salad
There are easily obtainable, microwaveable chicken cutlets that can be found in any grocery store near you, and everyone knows where to find salad. It’s quite self-explanatory. You take your chicken, now microwaved, and put it in your salad with your choice of dressing and add-on’s. And before you say, “I’m not a salad person,” give this a try. You won’t be dissatisfied.
Vegetable Puree
This requires a bit of prior preparation before you leave the house, but it’s well worth it. And by prior preparation, I mean putting vegetables in a blender. And blending them. For a great puree to come through, it is important to use fresh vegetable and orange or tomato juice. If blended correctly with the above ingredient, you’ll have an extremely delicious and flavorful puree that works fantastically as a lunch.
Snack Wrap
We’re back to chicken cutlets! This dish and the aforementioned one share similar ingredients but are definitely two different, delicious dishes. The Snack Wrap is a great collaboration of grilled chicken wrapped in lettuce that is wrapped in tortilla with Chipotle Sauce on the side for a dip. Together, all these ingredients create an incredible taste experience. It s personally my favorite lunch. This is delicious and takes only minutes to prepare.
Protein Shake
Protein shakes are a great way to obtain necessary, nutritional value and acts as a sweet concoction that is almost impossible to resist. It is simply made through putting things high in protein in a blender. Things like bananas, peanut butter, milk, and just about anything you can think of. You blend it thoroughly. You can even add ice to create a more desert-like treat that still acts as a fantastic lunch.
