La Mirada Golf Course is an 18 hole course that opened for play in 1970. This William Bell designed layout features bent grass and poa annua greens. Measuring a little over 6000 yards, La Mirada is a great place to enjoy a casual round. The par 70 course is unusual in that it has four par fives. Par 70 layouts usually have two. Consequently, the number of par threes is also increased to six.
The result is a course on which a good score is a real possibility if you score on the par fives. The 12th hole measures 551 yards and it is rated the second toughest hole on the course. Your better birdie opportunities are on the other par fives: holes four, seven, and sixteen. They all measure between 484 and 515 yards. If you’re hitting your irons well, those numerous par threes might help your score as well. All of the par threes are medium to long holes. The front nine concludes with a 199 yard par three.
